2019 ALA Interior Award winning offices of UrbanWorks opened its doors for the Chicago Architecture Center yearly Open House Chicago. UrbanWorks welcomed over nine hundred visitors to its offices located in the vintage National Building in the Chicago Loop. The design studio encourages communication and collaboration. An “Idea Space” allows for less formal gatherings and brainstorming. Cork floors and a palette of sustainable materials reinforce the theme of creativity and openness. Open House Chicago is annual architecture festival that offers behind the scenes access to more than 250 buildings and spaces across Chicago which are rarely open to the public. Each tells a story about the rich and diverse experience of the Chicago community.
