UrbanWorks Ltd. joined the Grace Farms Design for Freedom call for action dedicated to eradicating forced labor in building material supply chains.
Patricia Saldana Natke of UrbanWorks was part of the two-year Working Group, launched by Sharon Prince, CEO and Founder of Grace Farms Foundation, and the late Bill Menkin Editor-in-Chief of The Architects Newspaper. A Report and March 31st, 2022 Summit galvanized industry leaders and experts committed to the built environment. In addition, IIT 4th Year and 5th Year Studio students conducted an Ethical Building Materials Study. Grace Farms issued a Design For Freedom Toolkit, challenging the design and construction sector to incorporate ethical materials sourcing and build a more humane, equitable future. An AIA Conference ’22 Panel in Chicago will present Equity in the Material Supply Chain on June 24, 2022.
