The Association of Licensed Architects annual design awards program, showcases the “power of design” by their members. With awards in seven categories, UrbanWorks’ new 3,070 SF offices, located in the National Building in downtown Chicago, won a Silver Award for Interior Architecture.
2019 ALA Interior Award winning offices of UrbanWorks opened its doors for the Chicago Architecture Center yearly Open House Chicago. UrbanWorks welcomed over nine hundred visitors to its offices located in the vintage National Building in the Chicago Loop.
UrbanWorks is pleased to welcome Kari Berg and Dominick Hart to our team. Kari joins our ranks with over 30 years of experience in architecture, interior design, and construction project management, and will be serving as a Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager. Dominick comes to UrbanWorks with over 25 years of experience in architectural design, and will serve as a Senior Project Architect. Both of them have experience in a wide range of projects and will be valuable additions to to our staff. Welcome, Kari and Dom!
UrbanWorks’ President, Patricia Saldaña Natke, will be participating on a panel at the Girls 4 Science spring fundraiser on April 30th to “Spring Forward STEM for Chicago Girls.” The diverse panel features “prominent Chicago female leaders in STEM hosted by Ilene Gordon, former CEO of Ingredion, with Suzzette Jaskowiak, Divisional Vice President of Pharmacy, Healthcare and Customer Engagement Technology at Walgreens; Patricia Natke, President and Design Principal of UrbanWorks; and Kari Steele, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Chicago.” Tickets for the event are $75, and include dinner. The Space to Grow program, which “transforms Chicago schoolyards into vibrant spaces to play, learn and be outside” was awarded the 2018 Metropolitan Planning Council Burnham Award for Excellence in Planning. UrbanWorks is proud to have contributed to this wide reaching project, having designed a new playlot for Nathan Davis Elementary. Read more
