UrbanWorks’ West Pullman Senior Housing has recently been awarded the 2021 Landmarks Illinois Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse. A three-building school complex, built in 1894, 1900 and 1923, in Chicago’s historic Pullman neighborhood has been creatively reused as affordable senior housing. The project, led by developer Scott Henry of Celadon Holdings, LLC and UrbanWorks, has successfully preserved the historic buildings that have continuously served as an important anchor in one of the nation’s first planned industrial communities.
